He didn't mind that, either, just sighing softly with faint pleasure at the sensation of it. He never minded Zero taking his blood, he liked it, even - it only bothered him when it felt like a substitute for any other sort of closeness, for kisses or touching or more. But like this, he enjoys it.
He tenses a little as Zero bites him, but it's an instinctive reaction, nothing more. It feels good to be like this, in Zero's arms, giving him something he wants - perhaps that's an oddly selfish way of thinking, but it isn't as if Mukuro cares. He just enjoys it, quietly.
Devoid of his powers, the glimpses of his mind are silently absent. There's no flashes of thoughts or emotions to tie him to Mukuro, nothing to connect his feelings for him once he starts drinking. There's only blood. Blood and greed. The two weave together enticing his bloodlust, leading him astray. The Animus may have tried to make him human, but the beast inside remained, no longer hidden from view.
He pulls him closer, his fingers digging into his skin. Somewhere in the dark recess of his mind he tries to pull away and stop himself, but the blood lingers on his tongue enticing his greed. In the end, he's no better than a beast in human form, and the precious person he wants to protect lies deep within its lair.
He likes it at first, but it's not long before Mukuro feels himself growing weaker. A little weakness is fine, he can compensate for it - but Zero is taking too much blood, he realizes suddenly. Mukuro's always felt safe letting Zero drink from him, because Zero is always careful and Mukuro knows he's strong enough to stop it if it goes too far.
But things are different now. Mukuro doesn't have his powers, has nothing but his quick mind and his natural instincts. He's not weak, and he's fast, but he doesn't have the same confidence in his own strength as he would otherwise. He knows he can't stop Zero as easily - might not be able to stop him at all.
That doesn't mean he's anywhere near the type who'd just let it happen, though. His soft touch turns to a hard grip on Zero's arm, and his voice is firm.
Lost in his gluttony, Zero lost sight of the warm body in his grasp. He'd always been able to control himself, but right now that control easily slipped away from his fingers. Without anything to anchor him to the present, he lost himself in his blood.
Deep within its snare, he hardly noticed how much he'd taken, nor the hand that suddenly latched onto his arm. It all blurred together in the darkness, until that familiar voice pierced through his consciousness. It took a minute, but he managed to extract himself from the bloodlust, enough to tepid the voracious hunger and slowly calm it down.
He can feel Zero pulling back, calming himself down, and Mukuro's grip on his arm loosens. He keeps talking, though, so that Zero doesn't lose himself again. Mukuro feels weak from the blood loss, and he knows he won't be back to his full strength quickly. On a practical level, he needs Zero in control of himself so that Mukuro won't be completely without protection.
"Don't be so greedy. If you take it all, I won't be able to give you more later. And I know you'll feel bad if I die."
Step by step, he follows that voice back to the present, and once he emerges into consciousness, his eyes instantly snap open only then realizing what's happened. He immediately pulls away from him, breaking the connection as blood spills down his lips.
"Mukuro!" A panicked exclamation as his hand snaps to the twin wounds to stop the bleeding.
His breath flutters a little, and his skin has gone paler than normal. That was more blood than he really should have given, but he didn't realize until it was too late. He's not angry, of course, except maybe at himself - he should have been more careful.
"I'm all right. I'll recover." A slight wince crosses his face as Zero touches the wounds. They won't scar, at least, though in a way Mukuro treasures the scar he does bear from Zero.
His panic only heightens at that wince mixed with his pale complexion. Pushed by his instincts, he moves to pull him into a crushing hug as his heart hammers in his chest. He doesn't hold him for long and after a few seconds lets him go.
"How much blood did I - are you okay?" Frightened by his demeanor, he rips off a piece of his shirt and presses the material against his wounds.
"I'm okay." It's only a slight fib. He will be okay, once he's recovered and eaten and had some water. It'll just take longer than Mukuro intended, he's weaker than he wanted to be. It's true that for the moment he doesn't look healthy at all. He doesn't like being this weak, but he can't deny that Zero's concern is touching. It's always good to know someone would be upset if you died, and that hug felt nice.
"You took a little too much, but I'm still awake and alive. You had enough control to stop when I asked you to."
He slips his arms around Zero, weak but not so much so that he can't do that. One hand comes up, stroking Zero's hair gently. "You don't need to apologize. I'm not mad, and you stopped - you have more control over yourself than you think. It was just blood."
And Mukuro had offered it freely. He didn't think Zero needed to be so guilty - but he knows that Zero thinks differently about these things.
"Do you feel better, though? Do you still crave it?" That's what's important from Mukuro's perspective. The connection didn't flow both ways, the intimacy Mukuro felt was a product of their closeness and his feelings for Zero. Of course he would rather Zero got more from it than mere blood - he would rather be something special. But he could accept that it wouldn't always be that way.
He moved closer still, turning a bit, bending in to brush his lips gently against the corner of Zero's lips. "Then we won't do it again. But it'll calm your cravings for now, right? I would rather not have it be for nothing. It's still my blood, after all. I could have used that." His tone was light, soft.
"Good." Then it had been worth it. Mukuro was light-headed, dizzy from the lack of blood, so he didn't move away. He just rested in Zero's arms, breathing softly and feeling weak.
"I know you've got others to protect, but stay for a little while... okay?"
Of course he didn't like feeling this way. Mukuro never would - it wasn't in his nature to be content while feeling weak. But with Zero there he could at least be fairly certain that he was safe. He wasn't much of the cuddly type, either, but right now it felt good to be held.
"Try to survive. Don't throw your life away here."
He leaned in, pressing soft lips to Zero's jawline. He was still a little woozy and dizzy from blood loss, but it felt good anyway - it's a pleasant surprise to be able to do these things without being pushed away.

"Go ahead." His voice is soft.

"I couldn't feel you. It wasn't like before." An arm came around him to hold him closer. "I only took your blood, there was nothing more."

"I don't want it like that." Like he meant nothing to him, as if blood was the only thing he wanted. He wasn't some Level E to treat him like that.

"It's enough. I'm not hungry anymore," he answered as he returned the light token of affection with a light skim of lips across his jaw.

"I wouldn't throw it away on just anyone."

"I should hope not. It's valuable, you know."

"Not as much as you think," he murmured.
